Carpet is the floor most people buy based on a sample square in a store. What decides whether you like it in two years is the pad under it, how tight it was stretched, and whether the seams were placed where nobody walks. That’s our end of the job.

    Carpet, pad and tack strip are removed and hauled away.

  3. New pad & carpet

    Stretched tight, with seams placed away from where people walk.

Pad matters as much as carpet

A good pad makes mid-priced carpet feel expensive and helps it wear evenly; a thin one makes expensive carpet feel cheap and wear out early. We’ll show you the difference at your estimate.

Stairs are their own job

Stair carpet takes the hardest wear in the house and is the easiest place to see a rushed install. We wrap each step tightly so it doesn’t slip or bubble, and match the pattern direction to the hall.

How much does carpet installation cost?

Carpet is usually the least expensive floor per square foot, but the total depends on the carpet and pad you choose, the square footage, and how many stairs there are, so we measure and price it in your home for free.

Your written estimate includes removal and haul-away of the old carpet, so there are no surprises on install day.

Do you move the furniture?

Yes. We move furniture out of the room before installing and put it back after.

We’d ask you to clear small, fragile and valuable items (lamps, electronics, things on shelves) beforehand.

Do you take away the old carpet?

Yes. Removing and hauling away your old carpet and pad is part of the job.

Can you carpet stairs?

Yes. Stairs, landings and closets are part of what we do, including the awkward staircases other crews call “too tricky.”

Stairs take longer than open rooms and are priced per step on your estimate.

How long does carpet installation take?

Most homes are done in a day; larger houses or lots of stairs can run longer.
