Hardwood flooring

What you get when we install your hardwood

Double N Services installs solid and engineered hardwood floors in homes across Marietta, Cobb County and Metro Atlanta. Every job starts with a free in-home estimate: we measure, check the subfloor, walk you through your options and leave you with a written price.

Hardwood is the floor people notice when they walk in, and it’s also the floor that shows every shortcut. Gaps at the walls, a bouncy spot over a bad subfloor, a clumsy transition into the kitchen. Those come from the install, not the wood. That’s the part we’ve been doing for 26 years.

What’s included

  • A real estimate, in your home. We measure every room, look at the subfloor, and talk about budget and style before any number is written down.
  • Subfloor repairs first. Where water or structural damage shows up, we repair it before new boards go down, so the problem doesn’t come back through your new floor.
  • Matching into existing rooms. New boards woven into old floors so it reads as one floor, not a patch.
  • Stairs, landings and trim. Treads, landings, baseboards and transitions finished properly.
  • The owner on the job. Richard Norman runs the crews himself. Customers name him in their reviews.

Choosing

Solid or engineered? A straight comparison.

Both are real wood on top. The difference is underneath, and it decides where each one belongs.

On the job

What a hardwood install actually involves

  1. Subfloor first

Old flooring comes up. Soft, uneven or water-damaged spots are repaired so the new boards sit flat and quiet.

  2. Woven into what’s there

Where new floor meets old, boards are staggered in rather than butted in a straight line, so it reads as one floor.

  3. Stairs, trim & transitions

Treads, landings, baseboards, and the strips where hardwood meets tile or carpet.

How much does hardwood flooring installation cost in Marietta, GA?

It depends on the wood you choose, solid versus engineered, the square footage, any stairs, and the condition of the subfloor, so we price it in your home, in writing, for free.

We don’t quote hardwood over the phone because two houses with the same square footage can need very different prep. The estimate visit is where we measure, check the subfloor, talk through options that fit your budget, and leave you with a written number. Call (770) 845-4303 to book one.

Should I choose solid or engineered hardwood?

Solid hardwood is the classic choice for main living areas above ground; engineered hardwood is usually the better fit over concrete slabs, in basements, or anywhere humidity swings.

Solid boards can be sanded and refinished many times over their life. Engineered boards have a real-wood top layer over a stable core. How many times they can be refinished depends on how thick that top layer is. We’ll tell you which one suits each room at the estimate.

Can you match new hardwood to the floors I already have?

Yes. Matching new boards into existing rooms is a regular part of our hardwood work.

With older floors, the existing finish has usually darkened or ambered with age, so the most even result often comes from installing the new section and then refinishing the connected area together. We’ll show you the options and the cost of each before anything starts.

Do you install hardwood on stairs and landings?

Yes. We install hardwood treads and landings, and handle the transitions so the stairs read as part of the same floor.

Stairs are slower, detailed work, so they’re priced separately from the open floor area on your estimate.

How long does a hardwood installation take?

Most installs run over several days, depending on the square footage, the prep the subfloor needs, and whether there are stairs.

You get the schedule with your written estimate, so you know which rooms will be out of use and for how long.

Can hardwood go in a kitchen or basement?

A kitchen can work with hardwood if you’re comfortable wiping up spills promptly; for basements and other below-grade rooms, engineered hardwood or luxury vinyl plank is usually the safer choice.

If water resistance is the priority, take a look at our luxury vinyl plank page. It’s the floor we recommend most for basements and busy kitchens.

Do you speak Spanish?

Yes. Se habla español, from the estimate through the last day on site.

Call (770) 845-4303 and ask for Spanish.
